8. During the Second World War in the UK is banned the production of cosmetics. Winston Churchill makes an exception only for the lipstick – he thought that its use “raises the morale of the population.” Later in the economy appears the term “lipstick effect” – in hard times women do not spend on expensive and larger things, but willingly buy cosmetics. Perhaps this is the reason why the red lipstick is sold the most on cloudy days.
